'Fresco' Writing Desk by V. Wilkins for G-Plan (1970s)
Rs. 0.00G-Plan was the range of furniture concepts launched in 1952. The G-Plan range helped change the aspirations of buyers from heavy traditional furniture to a lighter, more modern style.
This “Fresco” Writing Desk was specially designed by V. Wilkins for G-Plan in the 1970s and was heavily influenced by Scandinavian design in the style of Mogens Kold Møbelfabrik. Finished in teak with a distinctive grain pattern, it is raised on turned tapered legs, with pedestal banks of drawers below a floating top. It also features a central drawer and organically shaped teak door handles, and marked with a red G-Plan stamp.
